Riverside South is one of Ottawa’s newest neighbourhoods, with
development initiated in 1996.
Projected to be one of the fastest
growing communities in the city, it is anticipated to achieve 52.9%
annual growth.
Its boundaries, which are not yet filled, will be Lietrim
Road to its north, the Rideau River to the west, Bowesville road to the
east, and an unseen border halfway between Earl Armstrong and Rideau
Road as the southern boundary.
By 2025, it is expected to house a
population of over 50,000.
With such rapid growth, it was important to design the neighbourhood
with utmost respect to the natural landscape.
There are 750 acres of environmentally protected areas, including
forests, ravines, meandering pathways and a waterfront park for all
residents to enjoy. Riverside South is a short drive away from
convenient shopping, plenty of schools and medical centres.
One of the largest, most illustrious communities ever undertaken in
Ottawa continues to dramatically unfold.
- Monction's Independant Grocer - in the community
- Dentists, Doctors and Banks
- Broadway Bar and Grill
- 10 minutes from Ottawa's shopping and dining destinations
- Anchored by the Rideau River and gated by the beautiful
Claudette Cain Park
- Ideal setting for homes of quality, style, and elegance
This community will grow to encompass every service and facility any
city can muster including:
- More schools and parks
- Shopping plazas, places of worship
- State of the art business campus
- Abundant nature trails, full service parks, ravines and
immaculate green spaces
- Network of interconnected pathways that allows residents to
leave the car at home
With its location just southwest of the Ottawa International Airport,
its easy to get away, or get downtown via the Airport Parkway.
By 2009,
the Strandherd bridge will be built across the Rideau River and Limebank
Road will be widened to 2 lanes to help alleviate traffic congestion
during rush hours that is becoming an issue on the underdeveloped rural
roads.
